All youthful smooth skin contains an abundance of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA) to keep the skin smooth and supple. But as you age, time, sunlight, and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. The lack of HA causes your skin to lose structure and volume – creating facial wrinkles and folds around your nose and mouth. Juvéderm XC helps replace the HA your skin has lost, adding volume to smooth away facial wrinkles and folds. The filler is injected just below the skins surface to temporarily fill moderate to severe wrinkles.
Botox
BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles to temporarily treat moderate to severe frown lines between the brows and forehead. BOTOX® Cosmetic works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes those lines to form. With less movement the skin surface gradually smoothes out and lines begin to fade.
- Botox is a simple 10 minute procedure
- No anesthesia is required
- You may experience minimal, brief discomfort
- There may be some slight temporary bruising at the injection site
- You will typically see improvement within the first week following your treatment.
